Bear Beats: Episode 34, For Competition Through Apr. 26

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Bear Beats is a weekly release that will be posted on Mondays to provide a look back at the past week of action and to preview the events for the upcoming week. The 34th episode for the 2025-26 year will feature men's and women's outdoor track and field, men's and women's tennis, baseball, and softball.

No. 3 Women & No. 13 Men Outdoor Track & Field
  • WashU will be sending a select number of athletes to the Gary Wieneke Memorial this weekend on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
  • The meet is being hosted by the University of Illinois in Champaign, Ill. at Demirjian Park

No. 6 Softball
  • WashU remains at home this weekend for a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday, May 2 against No. 23 Central.
  • First pitch for game one is scheduled for 12 p.m. with game two to follow.
  • The games are a part of the team's Alumni Weekend activities along with Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day
  • The Dutch and Bears split two games last season with Central taking the first game 4-3 in eight innings with WashU winning the next day 5-3.
