ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell to No. 4 Chicago 4-1 in the UAA title match on Sunday morning. The Bears close out the regular season at 17-3.
The NCAA team selection show will be on May 4 at 12 p.m. ET. The individual selections will be released via press release on May 6.
Doubles
The Bears claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Sophomore
Sam Slowik and first-year
Lily Brecknock beat Tina Kintiroglou and Lily Zawaneh 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
No. 2 junior Eleanor Arhcer and sophomore
Caitlin Bui beat No. 16 Lauren Khou and Oliwia Mikos 6-3 at No. 1 doubles to secure the doubles point.
No. 6 senior
Eliana Hanna and sophomore
Ally Lin were up 5-3 at No. 2 doubles over Charlotte Klein and Anika Paul when the point was clinched.
Singles
Chicago made it an even 1-1 match with a win at No. 3 singles as No. 17 Bui fell to No. 21 Paul 6-1, 6-4.
No. 15 Archer fell to No. 29 Clara Zou 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and senior
Amber Edmonds lost to Brooke Pedersen 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
The Maroons clinched the match with a win at No. 1 singles as No. 3 Hanna lost to No. 2 Sarena Biria 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-4.
No. 44 Lin won her first set 6-3 over Zawaneh and fell in the second set 7-6 (7-4). She was trailing 2-1 in the third set when the match was clinched.
Senior
Nina Moravek lost her first set to Isabelle Chong 7-5 before winning the second set 6-4. She was trailing 3-2 in the third set when the match was clinched by Chicago.
