ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The No. 10 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team bounced back on Friday with a 4-0 win over No. 62 Rochester in the consolation semifinals of the 2026 UAA Championships.

The Bears got off to a hot start by claiming the first two doubles matches to be completed. Senior Colin Scruggs and first-year Spencer Yamamoto raced out to a quick 6-2 win over Surya Rajamani and Haocheng Liu at number three doubles. Not far behind them was the No. 8-ranked team of senior Colin Fox and first-year Jeremy Sieben, who clinched the doubles point for WashU with a 6-3 win over Alan Wang and Ethan Samora at the top spot.

The number two doubles match between junior Nathan Tam and Drew Koval against Aiden Swart and Joshua Chu went unfinished, with Tam and Koval leading 5-2.

Across the board for singles, every Bear won their first set. However, it was sophomore Avi Mahajan who finished his match first with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Samora at number four singles. No. 20 Scruggs put WashU within one singles win of the victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Liu at the top spot.
