Washington University in St. Louis Club Sports Continues to Dominate Spring

The Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) Club Sport Program continued their strong Spring with success locally and across the country. Clubs competed in 19 tournaments/events/competitions and saw a high level of success.   

Club Pickleball earned a quarterfinal finish at the Crossroads Classic Tourney and secured a trip to the Collegiate Pickleball National Tournament. The club will travel to Georgia April 9-12 to compete with the top Pickleball Clubs from around the country.   
 
In Lawrence, Kansas Club Tennis continued an impressive Spring with a first-place finish at the Jayhawk Classic. Club Men's Rugby picked up two wins in Bluff City 7's, including a 37-0 shutout win against Western Kentucky. 
 
South Campus saw three Club events recently, with Club Fencing hosting a tournament, Club Men's Lacrosse playing Drury on a rainy Wednesday night, and Club Men's Ultimate welcoming Michigan on Friday night. On the field, Club Men's Lacrosse beat Drury 12-10. Club Fencing dominated the podium in a variety of events. In Senior Mixed Epee, Byron Wu won second place while Suri Li took home third. Mixed Foil saw Nathan Yap take first place while Jeremy Cho and Aren Hill tied for third. Jakub Lichterman got second in Senior Mixed Saber.  
 
Club Men's Ultimate hosted their annual Huck Finn tournament bringing in 25 teams from around the country. They also picked up two wins against Division I schools, Iowa and Iowa State, in the Old Capitol Open in Cedar Rapids, IA. 
 
Club Rock Climbing competed in a Collegiate Ropes Competition hosted by Upper Limits and won first place overall. Women's Advanced and Men's Advanced saw first and second place climbers from WashU, and Men's Intermediate had a second and third place member from WashU.  
 
In Coastal Mississippi, Club Triathlon raced at the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championship and competed against club teams from all over the country. Each club athlete completed a 1.5km open water ocean swim, a 40km bike, and a 10k run.
