Fencing Club website

The WashU Fencing Club invites all undergraduates & graduate students to our practices.  No experience is necessary, and experienced fencers are welcome.  Equipment is provided.

CLUB DUES & PARTICIPANT EXPENSES: None required

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: No

SEASON: Fall and Spring (October - December & March - April)

ANNUAL COMPETITIONS: 6-7

HOW TO JOIN: Show up to a practice at the South Campus Gym.

PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 

  • Attended first competition as a club (14-15)

  • First competitive season as a club and had at least one medalist at every tournament (2021-2022)

  • Had a top 4 finish in almost all local and regional tournaments (2022-2023)

  • Competed at USACFC Nationals; one fencer placed 2nd in Men's Saber and the Men's Foil team placed 8th (2022-2023)

  • Indiana University Open (USA Fencing) - Epee 3rd place Jeremy Cho, Foil 1st place Jeremy Cho out of 29 and 24 competitors. (2023-2024)

  • USACFC 2024 Club Nationals (first tournament by plane) - 6th place Men’s Epee (Byron Wu), 6th place Men’s Saber (Linus Dannull). Mariana Quiroz top 16 Women’s Saber. Men’s Squad 8th place overall (39 teams). Overall 20th (42 teams)  (2023-2024)

  • Record number of fencers compete in club history, many for the first time (2024-2025)

  • Won at least one event in every tournament (2024-2025)

  • Byron Wu was the Men’s Epee National Champion (2024-2025)
