Whether you want to complete your first sprint triathlon, are training for an Ironman, or just want some casual training buddies, WashU Triathlon has a spot for you! Team members lead weekly swim, spin, and run practices and we compete in collegiate and local races year-round. We also attend one big spring race each year, which in the past has been USA Triathlon Collegiate Club Nationals or Ironman 70.3 Texas! All practices and races are optional, but we encourage our athletes to participate as much as they are able to with their busy schedules!
Another highlight of every Spring is when our team hosts Tri WashU, a collegiate indoor sprint triathlon that typically hosts 45-60 athletes.
Joining the club is a great way to keep in shape, meet other athletes, and hold leadership positions. We provide our members with all necessary equipment (bikes, uniforms, etc.) and no previous triathlon or endurance sport experience is necessary!

WashU Triathlon has consistently qualified for Collegiate Nationals each year.
In the 2024-2025 season, we had about 30 team members, most of which competed in their first triathlons with WashU Tri at some point during the last few years! Izzy Collins won the overall female award at all 3 spring races (Tri-owa, Winter Wonderland, and Tiger Tri) and earned a spot at the Ironman World Championships by placing 1st in her age group at 70.3 Texas. Additionally, Valerie Passinisi placed 2nd at Tiger Tri and 3rd at Tri-owa, and Anna Wood placed 3rd at Tiger Tri. At 70.3 Texas, relay team Fozzie Bears (Brian and Max) placed 1st of all relays at the event, coming in almost ten minutes before the second-place team. Our other two relays Paddington Bears and Yogi Bears placed first and second respectively for all-female relay teams.
