Bear Beats: Episode 32, For Competition Through Apr. 12

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Bear Beats is a weekly release that will be posted on Mondays to provide a look back at the past week of action and to preview the events for the upcoming week. The 32nd episode for the 2025-26 year will feature men's and women's outdoor track and field, men's and women's tennis, baseball, softball, and golf.

No. 1 Women's & No. 5 Men's Outdoor Track & Field
  • WashU is back in Missouri this weekend when it travels to Canton, Mo. for the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 18.
  • Team scores will be kept at the meet.
  • Field events will get started at 10 a.m.
  • Track events will begin at 10:30 a.m.

No. 2 Women's Tennis
  • The Bears wrap up the regular season on Saturday, Apr. 18 with a match against North Central at home on the Tao Tennis Courts.
  • First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
  • WashU swept the Cardinals last season 7-0.

No. 6/7 Golf
  • WashU will close out the regular season this weekend when it competes at the Deb Jackson Invitational in Douglasville, Ga. at the West Pine Golf Club on Saturday, Apr. 18 and Sunday, Apr. 19
  • Emory is serving as the tournament host.

No. 8 Men's Tennis
  • The Bears are back at the Tao Tennis Courts this weekend to close out the regular season for a pair of matches on Saturday, Apr. 18 against North Central and on Monday, Apr. 20 against Div. II McKendree
  • The match against the Cardinals is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. (following the women's match) while the match with the Bearcats is set for 4 p.m.
  • Prior to the McKendree match, WashU will have a special ceremony recognizing its senior class.

No. 8 Softball
  • WashU is back on the road this weekend when it travels to Waltham, Mass. for a three-game UAA series
  • The Bears and Judges begin with a single game on Friday, Apr. 17 at 3 p.m. ET
  • The teams will then play a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 18 starting at 12 p.m. ET
  • Last season, WashU swept the conference series.

No. 14 Baseball
  • WashU is on the road for the first time in month when it travels to Waltham, Mass.
  • The Bears and Judges begin with a single game on Friday, Apr. 17 at 3 p.m. ET
  • The teams will then play a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 18 starting at 12 p.m. ET
  • WashU and Emory wrap up the weekend with a single game on Sunday, Apr. 19 at 11 a.m. ET
  • Last season, WashU swept the conference series.
