GREENVILLE, Ill. – In a split weekend, the majority of the No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Greenville Select while those racing in the 5k and steeplechase competed at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
No team scores were kept at either meet.
Top Finishes from Greenville:
- Shot Put
- Senior Jenae Bothe claimed the event win by over 3.5m with a throw of 14.74m on her sixth and final throw of the day.
- Javelin
- First-year Harper Karr finished eighth with a throw of 32.95
- Pole Vault
- It was a 1-2-3-4 finished for the Bears
- Senior Mackenzie Walker won the event with a clear of 3.80m on her second attempt
- First-year Campbell Pallera was runner-up with her clear of 3.80 on her third attempt.
- Sophomore Maddie Elhaik was third with a clear of 3.35m along with first-year Cami Friedl and her clear of the same 3.35m to finish fourth.
- Hammer Throw
- Senior Kally Mack finished in third place with a throw of 43.77m
- Long Jump
- Discus
- Bothe and Mack went back-to-back in second and third place, respectively, with throws of 37.97m and 36.38m
- 5000m
- 4x100m
- The WashU "A" team claimed the win with a time of 46.66
- 1500m
- WashU had four runners in the top six with senior Tatum Goforth winning in a time of 4:42.46
- First-year Megan Raue was fourth with a time of 4:44.80
- Sophomore Mackenzie Raue was right behind her sister in fifth place with a time of 4:45.57
- First-year Lucy Johnson was sixth with a time of 4:47.11
- 400m
- Seven of the top nine finishers were Bears
- Senior Kyle Spytek was runner-up to lead WashU with a time of 54.88
- Right behind her was junior Cate Christopher with a time of 55.67 in third place
- Fifth through ninth places were sophomore Hailey Weir (55.73), first-year Kate Delia (56.47), junior Julia Coric (56.84), sophomore Ellie Cain (58.32), and sophomore Quinn Bird (58.66)

- Senior Jasmine Right finished in third place with a time of 11.99 with junior Maya Davis in fifth place in a time of 12.49
- 800m
- 200m
- Weir (2nd-24.91) and Wright (3rd-25.04) were the top two finishers for WashU
- Christopher (7th-25.76) and Delia (8th-25.80) also finished in the top 10
- 4x400m
- The WashU "A" team won by nearly 10 seconds with a time of 3:47.79
UW-Platteville Invite Top Finishes
- 5000m
- Junior Lucinda Laughlin set a new school record with her runner-up finish, in a field of nearly 200, with a time of 16:24.13
- Senior Jillian Heth was 16th with a time of 17:01.66
- Senior Katie Rector finished in 25th place with a time of 17:10.68
- Also finishing in the top 75 were junior Avery Nason (68th-17:55.82), sophomore Grace Todd (70th-17:58.30), and junior Amelie Maltz (73rd-17:59.04)
- Steeplechase
- Senior Riley Clark was runner-up with a time of 10:48.85 while sophomore Sally Carrington was third with a time of 11:15.47
- Junior Maddy Lee finished in fifth place with a time of 11:20.56
WashU next compete on Saturday, Apr. 18 when it travels to the Wildcat Invite hosted by Culver-Stockton in Canton, Mo.
