Each academic year, over 2,500 students, faculty, staff, and alumni participate as members of the Intramural (IM) Sports program and we want you to be a participant! IMs are organized sports, games, and activities open to all WashU students. Anyone with a Sumers Recreation Center month or longer membership is also eligible to participate.

The activities and sports offered vary from semester to semester based on the interests of WashU students. All activities are free to play – there is a forfeit deposit for each team, which is required but is refunded at the end of each semester if you do not forfeit any contests during the semester.

One of several benefits of IM Sports is the limited time commitment, generally it is one hour a week at a scheduled time chosen by the team captain. We also offer many activities that are one day tournaments, including single and dual teams. Participants do not have to be "athletes" or experienced in their chosen activity – students have the opportunity to try new things in a fun environment with Just For Fun divisions, or the option to be competitive in Competitive divisions.

IMs offers 20+ games, sports, and activities for students to participate in. Some of those include flag football, soccer, softball, basketball and volleyball. All of which would not be possible without student staff, student referees, scorekeepers, program assistants and supervisors. Students are the "how" and "why" for Intramural Sports! See below for more information on how to participate as well as working for IM Sports.
