SALEM, Va. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team faces the No. 7 University of Chicago Maroons on Thursday in the National Semifinal at 3 p.m. ET.
Three of the four Final Four teams are members of the University Athletic Association (UAA) – WashU, Chicago, and Emory. Also joining the conference foes is Tufts from the NESCAC.

About the Bears – Schedule | Roster | Stats
WashU enters its third-straight Final Four with a 20-0-2 record. The Bears hosted the regional round and defeated Wilmington College and North Central College before beating #8 MIT 1-0 in the Sweet 16 and #4 Messiah 1-0 in an overtime thriller in the Elite 8.
On Tuesday,
five Bears earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors. Sophomore
Olivia Clemons, senior
Grace Ehlert, sophomore
Kate Martin, and junior
Sophie Viscovich were named to the first team while senior
Ella Koleno earned third-team honors.
Clemons and Ehlert pack a punch on the front line for the Bears, as Clemons leads the team with 17 goals, including three game-winners, and Ehlert has 14 goals with four game-winners. Koleno has a team-leading 11 assists and is tied for third on the team with eight. Sophomore
Cami Colpitts also has eight goals on the year while first-year
Heidi Fesler has six goals and six assists. Viscovich has nine assists on the year to go with four goals.
In the net, sophomore
Kassidy Lanthier has played in 18 games with 16 starts, totaling 1,422 minutes. She's made 24 saves and allowed just five goals, racking up a 14-0-2 record, including six solo shutouts.
Scouting Chicago – Schedule | Roster | Stats
Chicago has a 16-2-3 record on the season as the Maroons enter the Final Four for the first time since 2017. Chicago defeated UW-Superior 5-0 in the opening round and UW-La Crosse 3-1 in the second round. They moved on to beat Cal Lutheran 1-0 in the Sweet 16 before beating Carleton 2-1 in the Elite 8.
The Maroons had four all-region selections as Mary Stuart Kerrigan and Jamie Nguyen picked up a spot on the first team while Lucy Harrison-Caldwell and Gabriella Jensen were named to the second team.
Indira Naylor leads the Maroons with nine goals, including three game-winners, as well as four assists. Kerrigan has eight goals with five assists as well as two game-winners, and Harrison-Caldwell has six goals with four assists.
Sophia Sasaki has played in all 21 games with 20 starts, allowing 15 goals while making 40 saves. She has six solo shutouts on the year.
Scouting Emory – Schedule | Roster | Stats
The Eagles are 20-1-1 on the year, with the only loss this season coming against the Bears on October 26, 2-1. Emory defeated Belhaven 6-0 in the first round of the tournament and topped Rhodes 2-0 in the second round. They moved on to defeat Johns Hopkins 3-1 in the Sweet 16 and beat Pomona-Pitzer 1-0 in the Elite 8.
Five Eagles recently earned all-region honors. Michelle Davidson, Sophia Garcia, and Kaitlyn Nimmer all earned a spot on the first team while Claudia Schmidt was named to the second team and Mikayla Camp picked up a third-team nod.
Nimmer leads the team with 13 goals and 10 assists, including five game-winners. Camp has 11 goals on the year with five game-winners, while Madison Teng has six goals and seven assists with three game-winners.
Garcia has played in all 22 games with 21 starts, allowing just six goals with 53 saves. She's racked up 12 solo shutouts and four combined.
Scouting Tufts – Schedule | Roster | Stats
Tufts enters the Final Four with an 18-1-3 record and won the NESCAC in penalty kicks over Williams College. The Jumbos defeated Lesley 7-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, followed by Wesleyan 2-0 in the second round. They beat Middlebury 2-0 in the Sweet 16 and topped Mary Washington 1-0 in overtime in the Elite 8.
A pair of Jumbos picked up all-region honors as Maddie Pero earned a spot on the first team while Lena Sugrue was named to the third team.
Reese Birch and Elsi Aires lead the team with 11 goals apiece on the year. Birch has seven assists while Aires has five assists and a team-best four game-winning goals. Claire Brady has five goals, including three game-winners, and four assists while Caroline Kelly has four goals and a team-best nine assists.
Gigi Edwards has played and started in 19 games, tallying 1,710 minutes. She's allowed eight goals and made 61 saves. Edwards has 11 solo shutouts.
WashU vs. Remaining NCAA Playoff Field
The Bears have played 10 NCAA-Tournament teams this season, posting a 9-0-1 record: Calvin, Rose-Hulman, North Central, Rhodes, Case Western Reserve, Carnegie Mellon, Rochester, Emory, NYU and Chicago. Two of those teams are in the Final Four.
