TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team defeated Rose-Hulman (RHIT) 2-0 on the road on Thursday evening, handing the Fightin' Engineers their first loss of the season. With the win, the Bears improve to 4-0 on the year.
WashU broke through in the 39
th minute as senior
Madi Foley scored her third goal of the season on a pass from sophomore
Grace Lynch for a 1-0 lead.
Junior
Emily Fox also netted her third goal of the year in the 77
th minute, off a sequence from Foley and first-year
Grace Harper.
The Bears set the pace, registering 22 shots with 13 on goal, while holding RHIT to five total shots with two on goal.
Fox led the Bears with six shots including five on frame with a goal. Senior
Sophie Viscovich recorded five shots with four on goal while junior
Kate Martin had three shots with two on goal.
