No. 1 Women's Soccer Secures Road Shutout At Westminster

FULTON, Mo. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team defeated Westminster 11-0 on the road on Friday evening to improve to 2-0 on the year.
 
WashU put in its first goal in the 17th minute, as junior Emily Fox put a ball through the center for her first goal in a Bears' uniform.
 
Less than three minutes later at 19:05 senior Madi Foley netted her second goal of the season on a pass from junior Cami Colpitts for a 2-0 edge.
 
The Bears put in one final goal of the first half at 41:18 as first-year Grace Harper scored her collegiate goal on an assist from sophomore Monica Morales-Martinez.
 
Sophomore Lauren Simon scored the first goal of the second half and second her goal of the season, putting in a ball from Colpitts at 49:38.
 
Junior Olivia Clemons scored her first goal of the year in the 58th minute, putting in a high left ball for a 5-0 advantage.
 
With two assists already to her credit, Colpitts scored in the 59th minute to put WashU up 6-0. She leads the Bears with four goals and 10 points already this season.

Less than two minutes later, sophomore Heider Fesler scored her first goal of the season on a high left ball.
 
Clemons scored her second goal of the game in the 62nd minute, scoring on a pass from senior Anna Rosato. In the 73rd minute, Rosato switched roles, scoring with a low right ball.
 
The Bears extended the lead to double-digits in the 76th minute as sophomore Grace Lynch put in a goal for a 10-0 lead, scoring her first goal of the year.
 
Senior Julia Moore scored her third goal of the year and final of the game in the 82nd minute to put the Bears up 11-0.
 
WashU is back on the road on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match at Simpson College.
