Bear Beats: Episode 10, For Competition Through Oct. 26

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Bear Beats is a weekly release that will be posted on Mondays to provide a look back at the past week of action and to preview the events for the upcoming week. The 10th episode for the 2025-26 year will feature men's and women's soccer, volleyball, football, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's swimming, and golf.

On the horizon:
 
No. 2 Women's Soccer
  • The Bears return home for their final two UAA contests of the regular season.
  • WashU's lone contest of this week is on Saturday, Nov. 1 when it takes on No. 24 NYU at Francis Olympic Field.
  • Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
  • The contest has been designated as The Hidden Opponent (THO) contest.

  • Following last week the Bears remain No. 1 in the latest NPI rankings.
No. 3 Men's Soccer
  • The Bears return home for their final two UAA contests of the regular season.
  • WashU's lone contest of this week is on Saturday, Nov. 1 when it takes on NYU at Francis Olympic Field.
  • Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.

No. 10 Men's & No. 14 Women's Swimming and Diving
  • The Bears return to the pool after a month from their last contest when they host their home opener on Saturday, Nov. 1 against Chicago.
  • The dual meets get underway from Millstone Pool at 12 p.m.
  • The day has been designated as the teams' Pink Out in recognition of breast cancer awareness.

No. 12 Women & No. 19 Men's Cross Country
  • WashU is hosting the 2025 UAA Cross Country Championships this Saturday, Nov. 1 at the SIUE Cross Country Course in Edwardsville, Ill.
  • The men's 8K race gets started at 11 a.m.
  • The women's 6K race gets underway at 12 p.m.

RV Football
  • WashU stays on the road this weekend when it pays a visit to Millikin on Saturday, Nov. 1.
  • Kickoff with the Big Blue is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Frank M. Lindsay Field.
  • A year ago, WashU dominated the contest with Millikin, outscoring the Big Blue 70-21 at Francis Olympic Field.  
  • WashU enters with a 5-2 record while Millikin comes into the contest with a 2-5 overall record.
  • The Bears currently are 4-2 in the CCIW while the Big Blue are 1-5.
