HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team defeated No. 5 Emory 5-2 on Wednesday morning. This marks the first time in program history the Bears have defeated Emory in women's tennis. The Bears are now 8-1 overall.

Caitlin Bui beat No. 3 Iris Berman and Emily Kantrovitz 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Eliana Hanna and sophomore
Ally Lin defeated Izabele Antanavicius and Yanire Marte 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
No. 18 first-year
Lily Brecknock and sophomore
Sam Slowik beat Rachel Hernandez and Holyn Karp 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
Bui beat No. 6 Antanavicius 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 3 singles while No. 45 Lin defeated Marte 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Senior
Amber Edmonds beat Karp 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and senior
Nina Moravek defeated Hernandez 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
No. 7 Hanna fell to No. 15 Kantrovitz 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 and No. 17 Archer lost to No. 49 Berman 7-5, 7-5 at No. 2 singles.
The Bears continue their spring break trip with a 12 p.m. ET match against No. 4 Wesleyan tomorrow at Bluffton High School.
