CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team saw two doubles teams advance to the national semifinals of the NCAA Division III Individual Championships with wins on Saturday afternoon.
Doubles
No. 1 junior
Eleanor Archer and sophomore
Caitlin Bui defeated Emory's No. 8 Izabele Antanavicius and Yanire Marte 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinal. They will take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' No. 2 Lindsay Eisenman and Rebecca Kong in the national semifinal at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
No. 10 senior
Eliana Hanna and sophomore
Ally Lin beat Johns Hopkins' No. 5 Ava Li and Kamila Wong 6-4, 7-5 in the quarterfinal. They will play Babson's No. 4 Matia Cristiani and Alessandra Sikharulidze in the national semifinal at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
The winners of the national semifinals will play in the doubles title match on Monday.
Singles
No. 5 Hanna fell to Johns Hopkins' No. 43 Lia Melvin 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. She closes out the season with a 22-10 mark in singles play.
