NEW YORK, N.Y. – Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer sophomore
Olivia Clemons has been named a finalist for the DIII Honda Athlete of the Year award for soccer, as announced by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of the College Women Sports (CWSA) presented by Honda.
Clemons is among 11 finalists for the prestigious award, which recognizes the top NCAA Division III Athletes across various sports.
The DIII Honda Athlete of the Year will be selected by senior women administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools and will be honored during a live broadcast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, July 27 at 7 p.m. ET in New York City.
"I'm grateful for this recognition and proud of my team for all of our accomplishments this season," said Clemons.
The Kansas City native racked up a multitude of awards this season in which the Bears' won their second-straight
National Championship on December 6, 2025. Following the title match, she was named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player for the second year in a row.
On December 16, Clemons was named the 2025 United Soccer Coaches
National Player of the Year, becoming the second person in program history to earn the honor.
Prior to winning the national title, Clemons earned her first-career United Soccer Coaches
All-America honor, earning a spot on the first team. That came on the heels of picking up her second-straight United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region nod.
In November, Clemons
repeated as the UAA Offensive Player of the Year and earned a first team honor. She is the lone forward in WashU history to earn the same major award in consecutive seasons and the first Bear to pick up back-to-back major awards since 2021.
Academically, Clemons was named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and went on to earn College Sports Communicators Second Team All-America.
"Olivia is a player with special gifts but her greatest gift is selflessness," said Head Coach
Jim Conlon. "She is an unbelievable teammate as well as soccer player that can score goals and create chances for her teammates."
During her sophomore campaign, Clemons led the Bears with 17 goals and 40 points, to go with six assists and three game-winners. She had three multi-goal games including a hat trick against Rochester on October 24.
The WashU women's soccer program has had one Honda Award winner, Lizzy Crist in 2017. Overall, the WashU athletic department has seen five winners – Crist, Tasha Rogers (women's basketball, 2001), Alia Fischer (women's basketball, 2000), Shelley Swan (volleyball, 1996) and Amy Albers (volleyball, 1995).
