NEW YORK, N.Y. – Former Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer goalkeeper
Lizzy Crist '17 was selected as the DIII Athlete of the Year Representative for the upcoming Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) 50
th anniversary celebration.
In celebration of 50 years, the organization will honor past Honda Cup winners and CWSA honorees alongside the Class of 2026 Honda Sport Award winners, Honda Division II and III Athletes of the Year and the Honda Inspiration Award. The live presentation of the 2026 Honda Cup will be held on Monday, July 27 at 7 p.m. ET on CBS.
Crist is one of the 20 selected distinguished alumnae whose accomplishments have helped define the legacy of women's collegiate athletics.
In her time at WashU and beyond, Crist picked up a host of performance-based and leadership awards including the 2017 NCAA Woman of the Year, the 2017 Division III Honda Athlete of the Year, the 2018 NCAA Today's Top-10 Award and the 2019 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
After capturing the program's first-ever national title as a senior in 2016, Crist was named NSCAA (now United Soccer Coaches) National Player of the Year, D3soccer.com Goalkeeper of the Year, NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Defensive Player, NSCAA, HERO Sports and D3soccer.com First Team All-America, NSCAA First Team All-Central Region and First Team All-UAA.
On the Bears' career lists, Crist ranks second all-time with a 0.39 goals-against average, second all-time for shutouts with 31, fourth all-time with 48 wins and fifth all-time with 182 saves. She also ranks second for season goals-against average with 0.29, third for season wins with 19, second for season shutouts with 13 and seventh for season saves with 84.
Crist graduated from WashU with a degree in biomedical engineering and went on to earn her PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
