ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its NCAA Division III All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 academic year and the Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team, along with 12 members of the team, have been honored.
The Bears as a team maintained a 3.79 GPA for the entire 2024-25 academic year.
The 12 team members who were selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes as part of the organization's announcement include seniors
Ainsley Heidbreder,
Randi Hendricks, and
Carolyn Tsung, along with juniors
Amber Edmonds,
Eliana Hanna,
Hallie Jeffers, and
Nina Moravek, sophomores
Emily Chiasson and
Katie Finerman, and first-years
Chloe Brissett,
Caitlin Bui, and
Sam Slowik.
The team award is given to programs with at least a combined 3.2 GPA this past year. Individual athletes must have maintained a 3.5 GPA for the academic year to be honored as a scholar-athlete.
Last season, the Bears claimed the program's first-ever NCAA Div. III National Championship with a 4-3 win over No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer in the title match. Along the way they defeated No. 1 Chicago in the quarterfinals and No. 9 Johns Hopkins in the semifinals. Sophomore
Eleanor Archer teamed up with Bui to earn not only All-American honors in doubles but each earned the recognition in singles as well. The duo claimed the program's first-ever ITA Cup Doubles National Championship in the fall and remained in the top five in the rankings for the rest of the season.
