ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team wrapped up the first competition of the 2026-27 year on Saturday with day two of the Lindenwood Invite.
Singles vs. Lindenwood
Graduate student
Leila Epstein defeated Megan Caffin 6-3, 6-4 and first-year
Cassan Li beat Sofia Loglo 6-4, 4-6, 10-4.
Junior
Caitlin Bui won in a walkover and first-year
Emilie Lew beat Sarah Ben Aba 6-3, 6-2. First-year
Mia Yin topped Mathilde Humbert 6-4, 6-3 and sophomore
Maddie Morgan beat Danielle Wei 0-6, 6-3, 17-15.
Sophomore
Lily Brecknock lost to Paola Garcia 3-6, 3-6 and junior
Sam Slowik fell to Haylen Hughes 5-8.
Doubles vs. Lindenwood
Epstein and junior
Ally Lin beat Caffin and Hughes 6-1 while Brecknock and Yin topped Wei and Aba 6-2.
Singles vs. SIUE
Senior
Eleanor Archer beat Elena Palioura 0-6, 6-2, 10-7 and Bui beat Jessica Li 6-4, 7-5.
Lin topped Mya Bowe 6-3, 7-6 (2) while Li beat Chloe Koons 6-2, 7-5. Lew defeated Aliya Rector 6-2, 6-1 and Brecknock beat Emma Baker 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Yin topped Jacinta Villalobos 6-0, 6-2 and Morgan beat Emerson Metzger 8-0.
The Bears host UMSL next Saturday, Sept. 19 at Tao Tennis Center at 3 p.m.
