WashU is 18-0-2 on the year and scored a total of 12 goals last weekend in the regional at Francis Olympic Field. The Bears defeated Wilmington College 7-0 in the opening game of the regional, seeing goals from senior Grace Elert, senior

Clemons leads the Bears with 17 goals on the year, including three game-winners, and has five assists for a team-best 39 points. Ehlert has 14 goals this season, with four game-winners, to go with three assists for 31 points. Koleno has eight goals, including four game-winners, and a team-leading 10 assists for 26 points.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Kassidy Lanthier has started 14 games for the Bears in the net, totaling 1,234 minutes. She's allowed just five goals for a 0.36 goals allowed average. Additionally, Lanthier has 19 saves on the year for a .792 save percentage.

WashU and Messiah have a storied history, most recently advancing over the Falcons in penalty kicks in the 2023 national semifinal. Notably, in 2022, Messiah advanced on penalty kicks to the Final Four and in 2016, the Bears defeated Messiah for the program's first-ever national championship.

The Bears and Calvin faced off on September 5, when the Knights were ranked No. 25. WashU defeated Calvin 2-0 with goals from Koleno and Ehlert.

MIT enters the sectional with a 22-2-1 record and won the NEWMAC Championship with a 3-0 win over Springfield College.

The Engineers defeated Emmanuel 3-0 in the first game of last weekend's regional, with goals from Natalie Barnouw (2) and JoJo Miller. The next day in the regional final, MIT beat No. 24 Colby 1-0 with the game-winner scored by Barnouw on a penalty kick.

Barnouw leads the Engineers with 23 goals and 13 assists on the year for 59 points. Her 10 game-winners leads Division III. Madeline Seebeck has 10 goals and three assists while Maeve Sullivan has 10 goals and two assists. Ava Muffoletto has started 23 games, playing 1,119 minutes and allowing just two goals for a 0.16 goals-against average, which ranks second nationally.

Seven Engineers were named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Team, led by Barnouw who was named NEWMAC Athlete of the Year for the second-straight year. Sasha Ceol, Seebeck, Arianna Doss and Leena Mehendale were all on the first team with Barnouw while Miller and Ayla Sumer earned a spot on the second team. Additionally, the coaching staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Falcons are currently 21-2 this season and reached the NCAA Tournament after clinching the MAC Commonwealth title with a 4-0 win over Stevenson.

In last weekend's regional, Messiah defeated the University of Southern Maine 6-1 in the opening round with goals from Addi Martin (2), Brittany Laird (2), Tahlia Lloyd and Kenzie Derstine. The Falcons moved on to beat No. 25 Amherst 1-0 with a goal from Hannah Adair.

Adair leads the team with 15 goals, including five game-winners, and nine assists on the year for 39 points. Martin has 13 goals with four assists for 30 points and Laird has 12 goals with five assists for 29 points. Ava Wert has started all 23 games in goal, totaling 1,763 minutes. She's allowed just five goals and made 27 saves for a 0.84 save percentage.

Last week, Lloyd was named the
MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year. Adair, Bailie Dull, Laird, Mia Libby, Ella Lent-Koop and Lloyd were named to the All-MAC Commonwealth First Team while Martin, Wert and Alayna Williams earned a spot on the second team.

Calvin is currently 16-4 on the year and won the MIAA title with a 2-1 win over Hope College.

The Knights defeated Penn State Behrend 1-0 in the opening round of the regional with a goal from Mikaela Waroway. In the regional final, Calvin beat Illinois Tech 2-1 in overtime, with goals from Ellery Boeving and Waroway.

Waroway leads the Knights with 11 goals and five assists while CeCe McCarthy has eight goals and five assists. Kiah Nichols has seven goals on the year. Kalex Dodge has played and started in all 20 games for the Knights, totaling 1,698 minutes. She has allowed just 15 goals and made 81 saves.

Mia Judd was named the MIAA Most Valuable Player while Head Coach Emily Ottenhoff was named MIAA Coach of the Year. McCarthy, Waroway, Liz Williams and Judd earned a spot on the All-MIAA First Team while Nichols, Peyton Pratt and Dodge were named to the second team.

WashU vs. Remaining NCAA Playoff Field
The Bears have played 10 NCAA-bound teams this season, posting a 9-0-1 record: Calvin, Rose-Hulman, North Central, Rhodes, Case Western Reserve, Carnegie Mellon, Rochester, Emory, NYU and Chicago. Three of those teams remain in the sectional.

The 2025 Championship
A total 64 teams will compete in the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. Forty-three conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2025 championship. The other 21 berths were reserved for at-large selections designated by the NPI.

Sixteen four-team sites will conduct first- and second-round play on the first weekend of the championship, November 14 and 15 or 15 and 16. Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites November 21 and 22 or 22 and 23. All games, except the semifinals and final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. Winners of the four sectionals will advance to the semifinals December 4 and 6, at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Virginia, with Old Dominion Athletic Conference and City of Salem serving as hosts.
