NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced those who have qualified for All-Academic honors with seven members of the Washington University in St. Louis women's cross country team earning the distinction.
In addition, the women's cross country team also was named an All-Academic Team with a team GPA of 3.68.
Senior Sophie Bekins (Environmental Analysis), junior Jillian Heth (Mathematics & Computer Science), first-year Lucinda Laughlin (Undeclared), senior Abby Patterson (Biology; Neuroscience), senior Julia Patterson (Biology; Biochemistry), senior Virginia Pridgen (Marketing), and junior Katie Rector (Chemical Engineering) all were named to the team.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
The Bears finished the 2024 season at the NCAA Championships with a 10th place finish.
