WAVERLY, Iowa – Behind six All-Region performances, the No. 15 Washington University in St. Louis men's cross country team earned a third-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regionals, Saturday, November 11. Senior
Cullen Capuano led the Bears with his fourth-place 8k finish at Max Cross Country Course in Waverly, Iowa, hosted by Wartburg College.
North Central College took the regional crown with 49 points. Wartburg took second (55 points), WashU secured third (99 points), while Central College grabbed fourth (127 points).
In the field of 230 runners, Capuano was the first Bear to cross the finish line with his mark of 24:27.6 to grab a fourth-place finish.
Hornung, who utilized a season-best time, finished his 8k with a time of 24:46.0, to notch 15th. Daly welcomed a personal-best race of 24:55.5 to garner 20th overall.
Sidamon-Eristoff turned in a season-best mark with his time of 25:16.4, which was good for 29th.
Gadin and Bullard finished 33rd and 34, respectively, as both runners produced a personal-best time. Gadin crossed the finish line with a time of 25:21.5, while Bullard earned a mark of 25:22.1.
The final list of selected teams and participants for the NCAA Championship will be posted to NCAA.com tomorrow afternoon. The NCAA Championship race is scheduled for Saturday, November 18 in Newville, Pa.
