SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Despite the cooler temperatures in the Palmetto State, the No. 25 Washington University in St. Louis men's cross country team exceeded their national ranking as the Bears finished in 16th place at the 2025 NCAA Championships on Saturday in Spartanburg, S.C.
A slow start but a big comeback allowed WashU to finish inside the top 20. First-year
Max Sudrzynski was the first runner for the Bears to cross the finish line in 62nd place with a time of 24:57.5, earning the team 49 points. Senior
Conor Daly was next for WashU with a time of 24:59.5 in 67th place, good enough for 53 points.
Sophomore
Sean Green was the third to finish for WashU with a time of 25:25.4 in 115th place, scoring 86 points.
First-year
Charlie Houck (167th – 25:45.9 – 120 points) and classmate
Rishi Shadaksharappa (170th – 25:46.5 – 123 points) rounded out the scorers for the Bears.
The meet concludes the 2025 cross country season, as many of the team members will now prepare for the upcoming indoor track and field season.
