ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Washington University in St. Louis football senior
Grant Purdy has been selected as the National Football Foundation's (NFF) Tom Lombardo St. Louis Chapter College-Student Award winner.
Purdy, who wrapped up his football career with the Bears in the fall, will receive his award at the 34th Annual National Football Foundation Chapter Awards Dinner on April 27. The award includes a $2,000 non-restrictive scholarship. At the dinner, Purdy will have the opportunity to speak to this year's high school award winners, offering guidance and inspiration as they take the next steps in their football careers.
This is not Purdy's first award from the NFF, as he was previously named to the chapter's Elite Eleven team in high school, which is given to players who excel in football performance, academic achievement, and school leadership.
In his four years with the Bears, Purdy played in 33 games, seeing action in every game during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. In that time, he tallied 59 solo tackles and 41 assists for a total of 100 tackles. He recorded three tackles for a loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Additionally, he was part of the Bears' teams that earned spots in the Culver's Isthmus Bowl.
