ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Despite the forecast for inclement weather in the course area, the No. 20 Washington University in St. Louis men's cross country team still completed the 2025 Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday at the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.
In the top men's gold race, the Bears finished in 10th place, as a total of 14 of the top 30 teams in the latest USTFCCCA National Rankings participated in the meet with a total of 36 teams taking part. WashU finished with 320 points.
Top-ranked Wisconsin-La Crosse finished first with 56 points, and second-ranked Wartburg was second with 68 points. No. 11 RPI (3rd – 197 points), No. 13 Chicago (4th – 211 points), and No. 6 North Central (5th – 241 points) rounded out the top five team finishers.
Isaac van Westrienen of Cornell College was the top individual, finishing the 8K course in a time of 23:57.1.
Senior
Conor Daly was the top finisher for the Bears, crossing the finish line in 35th place with a time of 25:07.8. Sophomore
Sean Green was next for WashU in 52nd place with a time of 25:25.9. Placing third on the team was first-year
Max Sudrzynski with a time of 25:37.1, crossing the line in 70th place.
First-year
Charlie Houck (81st – 25:45.2) and junior
Will Liu (96th – 25:52.4) were the final two point scorers for the Bears.
In the men's blue race, WashU finished in third place with 120 points. Wartburg and Wisconsin-La Crosse flipped top spots as the Knights took home first with 38 points, and the Eagles were second with 92 points.
First-year
Rishi Shadaksharappa crossed first for the Bears in 8th place with a time of 25:53.9.
WashU will next host the 2025 UAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the SIUE Cross Country Course in Edwardsville, Ill. The men's 8K gets underway at 11 a.m., with the women's 6K race starting at approximately 12 p.m.
