MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for day two of the three-day NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, Friday, May 24.
The Bears are tied for fourth with 12 points.
Friday's Top Finishers:
Shot Put (Final):
- ALL-AMERICAN!
- For the first time in her career, sophomore Jenae Bothe welcomed All-American honors with her personal-best heave of 14.38m
- Bothe snatched seventh in the event
- Bothe earned two team points for the Bears
100 Meters (Prelim):
- Utilizing a personal-best mark and setting a program record, sophomore Jasmine Wright recorded a time of 11.69*
- Wright secured the third-best qualifying time
- First year Maya Davis (12.08) crossed the finish line in 19th
400 Meters (Prelim):
- Senior Emma Kelley topped the preliminary field in the 400-meter event with her time of 54.41*
- Kelley won the preliminary round by 0.57 seconds
800 Meters (Prelim):
- Two Bears secured a lane in tomorrow's final
- Graduate student Danielle Schultz turned in the second-fastest qualifying mark of 2:09.07*
- Emma Kelley earned a lane with her preliminary time of 2:10.29, good for the third-fastest qualifying time in the event*
- Senior Ally Sarussi (2:10.95) earned 10th
100 Meter Hurdles (Prelim):
- Junior Lauren Gay posted a mark of 14.72 in the 100-meter hurdles preliminary round to earn 19th
