ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team continue its spring season by host one of two meets on the weekend, beginning with the WashU Distance Carnival. The meet concluded on Friday with the fourth section of the men's 10k as the final race.

- First-year Kate Delia picked up where she left off from the indoor season (national champion) by finishing first in a 29 athlete event with a time of 2:08.32.
- Junior Cate Christopher was runner-up with a time of 2:09.26.
- Junior Caroline Echols (2:13.30), sophomore Kalena Riemer (2:13.40), and senior Cate Stevens (2:13.82) finished in eighth through 10th place, respectively for the Bears
- 1500m
- Sophomore Lucinda Laughlin was the runner-up with a time of 4:23.98, narrowly missing breaking the program record of 4:22.76.
- Senior Jillian Heth finished 16th with a time of 4:37.51
- The event fielded 46 athletes.
- Steeplechase
- Senior Riley Clark was the top WashU finisher in 16th place with a time of 11:09.65
- Junior Maddy Lee was the second Bear to finish with a time of 11:21.95, finishing 26th
- The event featured 50 athletes
- 5000m
- The event featured 173 athletes that finished while over 180 started.
- Junior Avery Nason was the first Bears to finish in 81st place with a time of 18:08.55.
- First-year Lucy Peterson (18:11.63), sophomore Grace Todd (18:14.30), and junior Amelie Maltz (18:14.90) finished in 83rd, 85th and 86th places, respectively.
WashU will continue the weekend tomorrow, Saturday, Mar. 28 with Day Two of the WashU Invite. It will feature the remaining field events and all the track events.
