ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team concluded a busy weekend on the track, hosting two events over a three-day span, Thursday-Saturday, March 28-30. The Bears hosted the annual Distance Carnival and the WashU Invite.
WashU won the WashU Invite with 11 event victories, racking up 216.75 points.
The Bears competed alongside Division I, Division II, Division III, JUCO, and NAIA opponents.
Distance Carnival Top Finishers (Thursday-Friday):
800 Meters:
- Senior Emma Kelley won her heat and the event with a time of 2:05.07
- Kelley won the event by five seconds
- Graduate student Danielle Schultz finished second as she crossed the finish line with a time of 2:10.75
- Senior Ally Sarussi notched a time of 2:11.79 to take fifth
- First year Caroline Echols turned in a seventh-place finish with a mark of 2:12.62
- Junior Izzy Gorton secured 10th (2:13.09)

- Junior Julia Patterson hauled in ninth as she posted a time of 10:52.97
- Junior Abby Patterson posted a mark of 10:56.51, which was good for 13th

100 Meters:
- Sophomore Jasmine Wright notched a runner-up finish as she crossed the finish line with a time of 12.00
- Also recording a time of 12.00, first year Maya Davis tied with Wright for second
- Senior Gemma Pleas secured 10th with a time of 12.69
- Sophomore Cecille Figueroa finished in 14th (12.88)
200 Meters:
- Junior Nicole Stewart won the 200-meter event as she bested the field with a time of 24.46
- Junior Lauren Gay grabbed third with a mark of 25.16
- Wright (25.65) earned fifth, Pleas (26.15) took ninth, while Figueroa (26.40) secured 10th
400 Meters:
- WashU took the top four places in the 400-meter event
- Kelley won with a time of 54.68
- Stewart hauled in a runner-up finish as she turned in a time of 56.59
- Sophomore Kylie Spytek (56.87) garnered third, while first year Cat Christopher (57.69) notched fourth
- Echols earned sixth with a time of 57.89, while first year Gayle Henderson (58.44) refinished seventh
800 Meters:
- Rector recorded a third-place finish with a time of 2:17.23
- Pridgen posted a mark of 2:17.50, good for fourth
- Teixeira-DaSilva (2:18.79) took eighth, while junior Morgan Fowler (2:19.49) hauled in ninth
1,500 Meters:
- WashU grabbed the top four marks in the 1,500-meter event
- Sarussi won the event with a time of 4:39.85
- Schultz secured runner-up as she ran to a time of 4:42.99
- Junior Sophie Bekins (4:45.48) took third, while Erdmann (4:45.83) earned fourth
100-Meter Hurdles:
- Gay spun a victory with a time of 14.23 in the 100-meter hurdles
- First year Holland Kantar grabbed sixth with a time of 16.82
400-Meter Hurdles:
- Junior Ruby Kaplan recorded second with a time of 1:05.11
- Kantar notched third with a mark of 1:09.77
3,000 Meter Steeplechase:
- Senior Marlee Fradkin won the event with a time of 11:48.39
- Fradkin won by over 25 seconds
4 x 100 Relay:
- WashU's relay team of Davis, Gay, Stewart, and Wright claimed the event victory with a time of 46.35
- The team of first year Julia Coric, Henderson, Pleas, and Figueroa (48.99) grabbed third

- WashU's team of Spytek, Christopher, Schultz, and Kelley cruised to the event win as the team finished with a time of 3:46.13
