NEW YORK, N.Y. - Utilizing three meet records and five titles, the No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team won the two-day University Athletic Association Indoor Championships for the fifth straight season.
Kelley (800-meter),
Ally Sarussi (800-meter), and Wright (60-meter) each produced meet records.
WashU won the championships with 190 points. Chicago took second with 170 points.
Sunday's Top Finishers:
800 Meters (Final):
- UAA CHAMPION and MEET RECORD!
- Kelley, who bested the 800-meter field by nearly five seconds, set a new meet record and upped her first-place time in the NCAA Division III rankings as she earned a time of 2:05.98 to win the event
- Ally Sarussi claimed runner-up, posting a time of 2:10.96 and another meet record
- Danielle Schultz (2:12.01) took fourth in the event
60 Meters (Final):
- UAA CHAMPION and MEET RECORD!
- Wright shattered the previous meet record with her impressive winning time of 7.63
- Maya Davis finished right behind Wright, securing a runner-up mark of 7.68
4 x 400 Relay (Final):
- UAA CHAMPION!
- The Bear 4 x 400 relay team of Spytek, Christopher, Schultz, and Kelley topped the league with the team's relay time of 3:48.84
- The team won the event by nearly three seconds
200 Meters (Final):
- UAA CHAMPION!
- Nicole Stewart welcomed the 200-meter crown as she turned in a mark of 25.16
- Lauren Gay notched a runner-up time of 25.37
- Spytek finished sixth as she posted a mark of 25.82
Triple Jump (Final):
- UAA CHAMPION!
- Opata jumped her way to a UAA title, posting the top mark of 12.42m
- The runner-up from Chicago earned a jump of 11.65m
Mile (Final):
60 Meter Hurdles (Final):
- Gay grabbed a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash as she posted a time of 8.765
400 Meters (Final):
- The Bears finished second, third, and fourth in the 400-meter event
- Spytek secured a runner-up finish with a mark of 56.96
- Christopher (58.07) hauled in third
- Julia Coric grabbed fourth as the crossed the finish line with a time of 58.66
3,000 Meters (Final):
- In the 3,000-meter run, Alexandra Blake (9:54.46) recorded a fifth-place finish
- Jillian Heth garnered sixth with a time of 9:55.51
- Rector (10:08.99) took 13th

WashU is set to compete in Wartburg College's last chance meet, Friday-Saturday, March 1-2 in hopes of earning a better mark to qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. The NCAA Division III Indoor Championships are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, March 8-9, in Virginia Beach, Va.
