WHITEWATER, Wis. - The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team made the trip to Whitewater, Wis. to participate in University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's annual Midwest ELITE meet, Saturday, February 10.
Yasmin Ruff set the new school record in the pole vault with her vault of 4.03m. Ruff broke Anna Etherington's previous school record (3.97m) that was recorded in 2012.
Out of 15 scored events, WashU won six. The Bears recorded a team runner-up finish, earning a total of 156.5 points. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse won the meet with 173 points.
The Bears competed alongside University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Loras College, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Carthage College, Trine University, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Points, and Augustana College.
Saturday's Top Finishers:
60 Meters:
- The Bears had a pair of athletes in the 60-meter dash finals
- Maya Davis secured third with a time of 7.65
- Jasmine Wright clocked in a mark of 7.69 to earn fourth
200 Meters:
- Nicole Stewart bested the 200-meter field of 31 to welcome the event win with a time of 25.34
- Lauren Gay recorded a time of 25.96, for a fourth-place finish
400 Meters:

- Julia Patterson turned in a time of 17:46.11 in the 5,000-meter run to earn third in the event
- Jillian Heth notched fifth as she crossed the finish line with a time of 18:08.42
- Avery McCammon (18:13.18) and Katie Rector (18:20.03) secured ninth and 10th, respectively
60 Meter Hurdles:
- WashU saw two athletes in the 60-meter hurdles final
- Lauren Gay won the event, posting a time of 9.06
- Charis Riebe grabbed fifth with a mark of 9.60
