Chicago, Ill., Feb. 13, 2020 – The women's 200-freestyle relay team set the school record with a second-place finish to lead the Washington University in St. Louis men's and women's swimming and diving team on day two of the 2020 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships Thursday in Chicago. 

Junior Elle Pollitt, senior Mollie Seidner, junior Sabrina Baxamusa and sophomore Grace Carey set the school record with a 1:34.04 in the preliminaries, and then broke it again in the finals with a time of 1:33.44.

PRELIMINARIES
In the morning prelims, freshman Mason Kelber (4:31.05, 500 Freestyle) and sophomore Nathan Katz (1:50.63, 200 IM) each qualified for the finals with NCAA B Cut times. 

In the men's 200 freestyle relay, senior Peyton Wilson, sophomore Barclay Dale, freshman Michael Kincheloe and senior Chase Van Patten was third in the prelims with a time of 1:21.86.

FINALS
Kelber took home a third-place finish in the finals in the 500-freestyle with a time of 4:25.69, and Katz followed with a time of 1:50.59 to place fourth. 

In the 400 Medley Relay, sophomore Kiki Bonetta-Misteli, senior Stephanie Li, freshman Sandra Meszaros and Seidner were third with a time of 3:47.70. 

Through two days of the UAA Championship, the No. 9-ranked WashU women are fourth (365.5) and the sixth-ranked men are fifth (228).

The 2020 UAA Championships continue on Friday with 13 events beginning at 10 a.m., followed by finals in those events at 5:30 p.m.
