Columbia, Mo., October 4 - The Washington University in St. Louis swimming and diving teams were back in action on Friday afternoon at the Show-Me Showdown at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The men's squad finished in 6th with 176.50 points while the women's squad came in 7th with 188 points.
The Bears collected nine top-10 finishes at the event. Senior Stephanie Li took eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.82. Senior Peyton Wilson posted a time of 51.12 in the 100-yard backstroke to finish ninth. Sophomore Barclay Dale took 10thin the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.02.
WashU relay teams had a strong day in the pool. Both squads took 6thin the 200-yard medley relay. The women's quartet of junior Elle Pollitt, Li, sophomore Grace Carey and freshman Noelle DiClemente tallied a time of 1:48.34. The men's squad turned in a time of 1:33.24.
The Bears' women's 200-freetyle relay team finished 5thwith a time of 1:39.44, posted by freshman Sandra Meszaros, senior Mollie Seidner, freshman Kayleigh Lewis, and DiClemente. The men's 200-freestyle relay team of freshman Michael Kincheloe, Wilson, senior Preston Bailey and senior Jerry Chen took 5thwith a time of 1:25.15.
The WashU women's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Pollitt, Meszaros, Carey and Seidner finished 6thwith a time of 3:36.16. The men's 400-freestyle relay quartet finished 8thwith a time of 3:08.24, turned in by senior Simon Deshusses, Dale, Kincheloe, and senior Chase Van Patten
