Box Score Whitewater, Wis., Oct. 23, 2016 – The No. 22-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's soccer team wrapped up non-conference play with a 1-0 double overtime loss at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Sunday in Whitewater, Wis.
UW-Whitewater concluded regular-season play with a 13-4-3 overall record, while WashU fell to 9-3-1.
Junior Isaac Monson scored the game-winner for UW-Whitewater in the 107th minute. After a long throw, Monson corralled a lose ball after a scramble in the box and buried a shot for the game-winner. The goal for Monson was his first of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Nick Tannenbaum (7-2-1) made five saves in goal for WashU.
UW-Whitewater outshot WashU 20-14, while the Bears had an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.
WashU steps back into conference play with a road game at Carnegie Mellon University (10-2-2, 1-1-1 UAA) on Friday, Oct. 28. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. (ET) in Pittsburgh.
