Barber, Ramos Post Regional Qualifying Marks at Principia

Elsah, Ill., Jan. 30, 2016 – The Washington University in St. Louis divers posted seven career-best scores at the Principia Diving Invite held Friday-Saturday, Jan. 29-30.

Sophomore Laura Barber and junior Emily Ramos each achieved the regional qualifying standard for the first time this season in the women's one-meter event. Barber posted a career-best score of 412.00 to finish fourth in the event, while Ramos was fifth with a career-best 396.35. Both were above the qualifying standard of 395.00. In order to qualify for the NCAA Central Regional, Barber and Ramos must achieve the standard one more time this season.

Ramos and Barber also posted career-bests in the three-meter event. Ramos finished fourth with a score of 409.85, just .15 off the qualifying standard for that event. Barber placed fifth with a score of 398.80.

Sophomore Ryan Nathenson placed second in the men's three-meter with a career-best 351.30. He was third in the one-meter event with a score of 382.85, while sophomore Fernando Rojo was fourth with a career-best 322.25.
