Box Score

Elsah, Ill., Oct. 6, 2015 – The No. 7-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team stepped out of conference play to post a 6-0 win at Principia College Tuesday night in Elsah, Ill.

The six goals scored were a season high, and the most since scoring eight in an 8-0 win over Benedictine University (Ill.) on Sept. 7, 2014.

WashU extended its winning streak to eight games and improved to 10-1, while Principia fell to 3-7-1.

"With us coming out on the front foot and Olivia scoring two goals early set the tone," said head coach Jim Conlon. "Our depth did a really nice job of continuing the game plan and moving the ball around."

Senior Olivia Lillegraven and freshman Jessica Ridderhoff each scored a pair of goals for WashU in the victory. The Bears outshot Principia 41-5, and had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Lillegraven quickly gave the Bears a 2-0 advantage scoring a pair of goals in the opening five minutes of play. She finished off a cross from sophomore Rachel Mickelson for the first goal of the game 47 seconds into the contest, and then added another goal at 4:59 to make it a two-goal advantage.

Lillegraven leads the University Athletic Association (UAA) with eight goals, and upper her career total to 27.

Sophomore Megan Wolf pushed the lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 12th minute after she snuck a shot from the corner flag under the far post. Ridderhoff added the first goal of her career in the 40th minute to push the advantage to 4-0.

Ridderhoff scored her second goal in the 59th minute with a left-footed shot from 25 yards out, and then senior Anna Sippel rounded out the scoring with a goal in the 63rd minute.

Senior Amy French (65 minutes) and freshman Jacqueline Foody (25 minutes, one save) combined to record the Bears' second-straight and sixth shutout of the season.

WashU steps back into conference play with a road game at Emory University (7-4, 0-1 UAA) on Saturday, Oct. 10. Game time is set for 11 a.m. (ET) in Atlanta.
