No. 17 Men's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker at Emory 1-0

Atlanta, Ga. Oct. 10, 2015 – The No. 17-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's soccer team had its nine-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 1-0 loss at Emory University Saturday afternoon in Atlanta.

Emory improved its overall record to 7-3-1 and remained in first place in the University Athletic Association (UAA) standings with a 2-0 mark. The Bears dropped their overall record to 7-2-3, and 0-1-1 in the UAA.

In a contest that featured just four shots on the goal, it was Emory's Christian Meyer who found the back of the net at 81:00 for the game winner.

WashU was limited to one shot on goa in the loss, and was outshot 7-6. Junior Daniel Geanon (4-1-2) took the loss in goal making two saves.  

WashU returns to action on Friday, Oct. 16, at New York University. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. (ET).

BEAR NOTEBOOK: WashU leads the all-time series with Emory, 12-9-9, but has dropped the last two matches … 23 of the 30 matches between the two teams have been decided by one goal or less … The Bears suffered their first loss of the season on the road (5-1).
