Bear Beats: Episode 33, For Competition Through Apr. 19

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Bear Beats is a weekly release that will be posted on Mondays to provide a look back at the past week of action and to preview the events for the upcoming week. The 32nd episode for the 2025-26 year will feature men's and women's outdoor track and field, men's and women's tennis, baseball, softball, and golf.

On the horizon:
 
No. 1 Women's & No. 9 Men's Outdoor Track & Field
  • Both WashU track and field teams will look to claim another UAA outdoor title this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio.
  • The two-day, 2026 UAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday, Apr. 25 and Sunday, Apr. 26.

No. 2 Women's Tennis
  • The Bears will look to claim the UAA title this weekend when it takes part in the 2026 UAA women's tennis tournament at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
  • The three-day tournament will begin on Friday, Apr. 24 with the quarterfinals.
  • The semi-finals will take place on Saturday, Apr. 25 with the championship on Sunday, Apr. 26.

No. 8 Softball
  • WashU is back home this weekend for a three-game UAA series with Carnegie Mellon beginning on Friday, Apr. 24.
  • Friday will feature a single game beginning at 3 p.m. on the WashU Softball Field.
  • A doubleheader will take place on Saturday, Apr. 25 with a first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m.
  • The Bears will honor its senior class on Saturday with a special recognition ceremony for their dedication to the softball program over the past four years.
  • Last season, WashU swept the UAA series 3-0 in Pittsburgh.

No. 11 Men's Tennis
  • The Bears will look to claim the UAA title this weekend when it takes part in the 2026 UAA women's tennis tournament at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

  • The semi-finals will take place on Friday, Apr. 24 with the championship on Saturday, Apr. 25.

No. 15 Baseball
  • WashU is on the road for the final weekend of the regular season when it travels to Case Western Reserve on for its four-game UAA series Friday, Apr. 24 through Sunday, Apr. 26.
  • First pitch on Friday will take place at 3 p.m. ET in Cleveland.
  • Saturday will feature a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. ET before a single game on Sunday, Apr. 26 at 11 a.m. ET.
  • Last season the Spartans claimed the series 3-1 in St. Louis.
