DELAWARE, Ohio – The No. 15 Washington University in St. Louis women's basketball team is set to travel for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7. WashU will take on SUNY Geneseo at 4:45 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon.
Ohio Wesleyan is serving as the host for the first two rounds at Branch Rickey Arena. The Battling Bishops will take on DeSales in the other first-round matchup at 7:15 p.m. ET. The winners will face each other on Saturday at 7:15 p.m.

About the Bears – Schedule | Roster | Stats
WashU enters the tournament with a 19-6 record after finishing second in the UAA with a 10-4 record. The Bears earned an at-large bid to the tournament, marking the 34th time in program history WashU has been in the NCAA Tournament.
A pair of players earned UAA honors this season, with both juniors
Lexy Harris and
Sidney Rogers earning First Team All-Association selections.
Harris, a five-time UAA Athlete of the Week winner this season, is averaging 18.6 points per game, leading both the team and the UAA in scoring average. Her 9.3 rebounds per game is the second-best in the conference. She finished the regular season with 10 double-doubles. Rogers started all 25 games for the Bears this season and ranks second on the team in scoring, behind Harris, with 12.3 points per game. Her 84 assists and 3.4 assists per game rank first on the team and second in the UAA.
Scouting SUNY Geneseo – Schedule | Roster | Stats
The Knights earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Saturday with their 66-52 victory at Houghton in the Empire 8 championship game. Geneseo enters the postseason tournament with a record of 20-8, their 11th 20-win season out of the last 15 years. The Knights return to the NCAA Tournament after reaching the Sweet 16 last season, the fifth time in program history Geneseo has reached that stage of the tournament. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in program history.
Geneseo brought home three All-Conference honors from the Empire 8 this season: Grace Galgano (First Team), Maggie McGrane (Second Team), and Kristin Suydam (Third Team). Additionally, Eva Elliott was named to the Sportswoman of the Year Team.
Galgano leads the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field. Junior forwards Audrey Hintz and Suydam were staples of the Knights' offense this season, combining to average 19.4 points per game and 11 rebounds. The duo also shot 48% and 46% from the field, respectively, while Suydam led the team with 37 blocks.

Franklin earned its bid to the NCAA tournament after winning the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, upending top-seeded Anderson in the final. The Grizzlies enter the NCAA Tournament with a 21-7 record and went 14-4 in conference play.
Three players and the coaching staff from OWU earned all-conference honors: Macy Miller (NCAC Player of the Year, First Team), Maddie Ebbert (Third Team), Alysa Griner (Third Team), and Head Coach Cody Hartzler (Coaching Staff of the Year).
Miller leads the NCAC in rebounding this year with 11.7 rebounds per game and is in a close second for scoring at 16.7 points per game. She is also second in the conference in blocks with 1.6 per game, third in field goal percentage at 50.5%, and fifth in steals with 2.1 per game. She has started 23 of her 24 games played this season, averaging 9.4 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. Griner has started all 24 of her games played this season, averaging 10.4 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.
The Bears and the Battling Bishops had one common opponent in DePauw. The Bears defeated the Tigers 70-52 while OWU split the two matchups with DePauw, 55-50 and 56-60.
Scouting DeSales – Schedule | Roster | Stats
DeSales is making its 18th trip to the NCAA Tournament and its seventh since the 2017 season after winning the MAC Freedom Championship on Saturday with a 59-51 win over Stevens. Overall, the Bulldogs are 10-17 all-time in the tournament.
Four players and the head coach earned all-conference honors: Lindsay Bednarek (First Team), Mikaili Donmoyer (Second Team), Marissa LaVerghetta (Honorable Mention), Aubrey Pollard (Honorable Mention), and Fred Richter (Coach of the Year).
Bednarek and Donmoyer lead the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 14.3 and 10.3 points per game as the only two players averaging double digits. Aubrey Pollard is third on the team in scoring at 9.4 points per game and second in rebounding at 7.2 boards per game. Kayla Ishigami is averaging 8.0 points per game and Sammi White leads the team on the glass, averaging 7.4 rebounds per game and has a team-best 54 blocks this season.
WashU vs. the NCAA Playoff Field
The Bears have faced seven teams that reached the NCAA Tournament – DePauw, Illinois Wesleyan, Wis.-Whitewater, Southern Virginia, and Christopher Newport along with UAA foes NYU and Chicago.
The 2026 Championship
The 64-team, single-elimination tournament consists of 43 automatic qualifiers and 21 at-large bids. The semifinals and championship will be held at the Cregger Center in Salem, Virginia, on March 19–21.
