Washington University in St. Louis Club Sports off to Strong Spring Semester

The Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) Club Sport Program continue their strong competitive performances in Spring 2026 with accomplishments ranging from National Championships to All-Conference recognitions.   
 
"WashU has one of the most competitive Club Sport Programs in the country," said Associate Director of RecSports and Camps, Jamaica Cannon. "With the strong foundation provided by the Division of Student Affairs and Dr. Anna Gonzalez, and the support of the Department of Athletics & Recreation and Anthony J. Azama, we are providing wonderful opportunities for students to excel in co-curricular engagements outside the classroom." 

In mid-February, the Women's Squash Club won the National Championship in the Women's Division A, beating teams from UCLA, Northeastern, and Boston College en route to a historical finish that saw the team notch the best finish is program history. 
 
Club Tennis won its fifth consecutive Missouri Valley Sectional Championship in early March, advancing to Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas slated to take place in April.   
 
Several additional Clubs saw success in regional and national competitions. Women's Club Volleyball earned a No. 3 National Ranking in the NCFV DII Poll. This followed a second-place finish at Midwest D2 Invite. WashU and one other program were the only Division III schools competing among primarily Division I teams. 
 
Notable additional accomplishments, include: 
  • Club Ice Hockey hosted its first-round playoff game against Missouri State
  • Club Men's Volleyball placed 6th in the Midwest Plains Volleyball Conference Championships and took third in the MWPVC DI Crossover  
    • Members Tengis Kelly and Morgan Mednick received All-Conference recognition being named to the 2026 MWPVC All-Conference First Team (Kelly) and the 2026 MWPVC All-Conference Second Team (Mednick)
  • Club Gymnastics hosted a dual meet with the University of Missouri, and swept many of the top awards, including finishing in the top three in all women's events and in the women's all-around. The team finished first in all men's events and in the men's all-around
  • Club Swim had eight podium finishes at a competition hosted on Purdue's campus and followed this strong performance by finishing third at the UKCS Wildcat Invitational in Kentucky
    • Across these two meets, the club has 34 National cuts
  • Three members of the Fencing Club took home medals after participating in Saint Louis University's competition. Nathan Yap won Gold in Mixed Foil and Silver in Mixed Saber; Steven Luyapan won Silver in Mixed Saber; and Suri Li won Bronze in Mixed Epee
  • Club Table Tennis placed 3rd at the NCTTA Midwest Regional to qualify for the National Tournament in mid-April
  • Club Men's Basketball qualified for Regional Championships in mid-March
  • Club Baseball swept its weekend series against SLU, outscoring them 30-0
  • Club Triathlon hosted 50 athletes at their Tri-WashU event in March
  • Club Badminton is hosting its first tourament ever in March
