ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The No. 16 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team opens the spring portion of their season this week when they host No. 35 Wisconsin-Whitewater at the Vetta Sunset Tennis Center this Saturday at 5 p.m.

All the Bears' home games at the Tao Tennis Center will be streamed exclusively through FloSports. This year, the UAA and FloSports entered an exclusive, five-year media rights agreement to stream all UAA competition.

After opening with the Warhawks, WashU will host No. 1 and defending national champion Denison on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m., also at the Vetta Sunset Tennis Center. The Bears will then step away from Div. III to take on cross-city opponent Div. I Saint Louis University at the Missouri Athletic Club on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.
Div. II Kentucky Wesleyan visits the Tao Tennis Center on Friday, Mar. 6 at 11 a.m. for the final match before the annual Spring Break trip.
The Bears will then travel to Texas for their next six matches, beginning with a visit to No. 14 Trinity (TX) on Monday, Mar. 9 at 10 a.m. Later that afternoon, the Bears will take on St. Mary's University (TX) at 3 p.m. After a day's break, WashU takes on No. 8 Swarthmore on Wednesday, Mar. 11 in Austin, Texas at St. Stephen's High School at 10 a.m.
The following three matches take place in Georgetown, Texas on the campus of Southwestern University. On Thursday, Mar. 12, WashU takes on UAA opponent No. 5 Case Western Reserve at 10 a.m. The Bears close out their Spring Break trip with a pair of matches on Friday, Mar. 13 against host site No. 37 Southwestern (2 p.m.) and Concordia University of Texas (5 p.m.)
WashU remains on the road two weeks later when it visits Wabash on Saturday, Mar. 28 at 4 p.m. ET and DePauw on Sunday, Mar. 29 at 10 a.m. ET. One more away match before returning home is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 when the Bears visit UAA member No. 2 Chicago for an 11 a.m. match.
Back at home at the Tao Tennis Center, WashU hosts Greenville on Monday, Apr. 6 at 4 p.m. The following weekend, the Bears hit the road for their final away matches of the regular season when they visit Fredericksburg, Va. for a trio of matches. WashU will play a pair of matches on Friday, Apr. 10 and a single dual on Saturday, Apr. 11. Matchups will be determined closer to that particular weekend with potential teams: No. 6 Emory, No. 8 Swarthmore, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 14 Pomona-Pitzer, No. 18 Carnegie Mellon, No. 21 Gustavus Adolphus, and No. 23 Mary Washington,
The final two matches of the regular season see WashU return to Tao on Saturday, Apr. 18 against North Central at 2:30 p.m. and Monday, Apr. 20 at 4 p.m. against Div. II McKendree.
The 2026 UAA Championships will take place the following weekend, Apr. 23-25, in Sanlando Park, Fla.
Personnel
WashU returns one of its three All-Americans from the 2025 season in senior
Colin Scruggs, who earned the honor in singles after going 14-7, finishing the season ranked No. 20 in the ITA poll. He was also named First Team All-UAA in singles and Second Team All-UAA in doubles.
Also returning is senior
Eric Kuo, who led the Bears in singles last year with 17 wins, including 12 in duals at No. 2. Kuo is also the top returner in doubles wins with 17. Classmate
Colin Fox also reached double-digit doubles wins with 11, while sophomore
Drew Koval returns with double-figure doubles wins with 10.
The Bears also welcome four newcomers:
Hans Deng,
Jeremy Sieben,
Ethan Wu, and
Spencer Yamamoto. Sieben was named the UAA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week this past fall after reaching the finals of the River Forest Clay Court Invite singles bracket at No. 3. He teamed up with
Ethan Wu to also pick up two wins at No. 1 doubles.
