ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team began ITA Central Regional play on Friday, hosting the weekend at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

Doubles 
After receiving a bye in the first round, junior Eleanor Archer and sophomore Caitlin Bui defeated Franciscan's Claire Cardie and Kina Ehlers 8-2. They move on to face Adrian's Hye Jin Elliot and Claire Early tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

The team of first-year Lily Brecknock and sophomore Sam Slowik, who had a bye in the first round, beat Illinois Tech's Martyna Kalinowska and Thea Salcedo 8-0. They will play North Central's Abigail Penados and Kensington Payne tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Sophomore Ally Lin and senior Eliana Hanna earned a bye in the first round and went on to beat Illinois Wesleyan's Amber Ehrlich and Olivia Bell 8-1 in the second round. The duo will take on Denison's Peyton Oda and Rafaella Ramos tomorrow at 9 a.m.

After also receiving a bye in the first round, seniors Amber Edmonds and Teleya Blunt defeated Calvin's Julia Hooker and Tessa Holman 8-3. They will face Chicago's Lily Zawaneh and Lauren Khou tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Singles
Brecknock, who received a bye in the first round, defeated Earlham's Vanessa Akuaku 6-1, 6-0. She advances to play Ohio Northern's Jenna Bell tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

Bui also earned a first-round bye before topping Denison's Rafaella Ramos 6-4, 6-2. She moves on to face Case Western Reserve University's (CWRU) Katie Wong tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

After receiving a bye in the first round, Archer moved on to defeat Capital's Scarlett Stephens 6-3, 6-1. She will play Hye Jin Elliot tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

Junior Emily Chiasson beat Ohio Northern's Jamie Hurst in the first round 6-2, 6-2, and went on to beat Lake Forest's Sofia Strupovets 1-6, 6-3, 10-7. She will take on CWRU's Katalina Wang tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

Lin also received a bye in the opening round and went on to defeat Hope's Madison Wei 6-1, 6-1. She takes on Ohio Northern's Lauren Okrainec tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

After earning a first-round bye, Hanna beat DePauw's Valeria Doherty 6-0, 6-2. She will play Kenyon's Marguerite Shope tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

Edmonds, who received a bye in the opening round, beat North Park's Alexandra Pugachova 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-3). She will face CWRU's Tara Markovic tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

Day two of the ITA Central Regional begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. with two rounds of doubles, followed by two rounds of singles.
