ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team concluded the WTN Open on Sunday afternoon. The three-day event was held at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.
Singles
Flight 2:
Graduate student
Leila Epstein won the consolation final against Missouri Baptist's Natalie Haug, winning 6-3, 6-2.
Flight 3:
First-year Emilie Yew defeated Yifei Han 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) in the final.
Doubles
Senior
Eleanor Archer and junior
Caitlin Bui defeated senior
Emily Chiasson and Lew 8-3 in one semifinal match.
In the other semifinal match, junior
Sam Slowik and Epstein beat first-year
Cassan Li and sophomore
Lily Brecknock 8-5.
In the final, Slowik and Epstein defeated Archer and Bui 8-5.
The Bears wrap up the fall portion of their schedule at the ITA Cup next weekend. Action begins on Thursday and runs through Sunday in Rome, Ga. at the Rome Tennis Center.
