ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The University Athletic Association (UAA) announced the 2024-25 Men's Basketball All-Association honors on Wednesday. Highlighting the awards for the Bears is first-year
Connor May who was named UAA Rookie of the Year.
May, who also received an honorable mention, is the fifth player in program history to earn this honor, joining the ranks of
Hayden Doyle (2021-22), Justin Hardy (2018-19), Aaron Thompson (2006-07) and Tyler Nading (2005-06). The award was first given out during the 2000-01 season.
Senior
Hayden Doyle picked up his fourth-straight UAA honor, earning a First Team nod, while senior
Drake Kindsvater was named to the Second Team. The trio has led the Bears to the program's 29th NCAA Tournament and fifth in a row.
In his first season with the Bears, May has played in all 25 games with three starts and is third on the team with 11.8 points per game. He ranks second among the Bears with 17 total blocks and 6.0 rebounds per game. May has dished out 36 assists and recorded 26 steals.
The Palatine, Ill. native has scored in double-figures in 16 of the Bears' 25 games, netting a career-high 22 points against Case Western Reserve University on February 14. He has recorded two double-doubles and had double-digit rebounds five times.
This marks Doyle's second-straight First Team All-UAA honor, earning it a season ago as a junior. He was named a Second Team honoree as a sophomore and was the UAA Rookie of the Year and an honorable mention selection as a first-year.
Doyle leads the Bears with 17.3 points per game and 84 assists on the season. He ranks third on the team with 4.9 rebounds per game and 18 steals on the year. Doyle has scored in double-digits in all-but-two of the Bears' 25 games this year and recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds against Emory on senior Day. He currently ranks fifth in scoring for the season among UAA players (17.3), sixth in field goal percentage (.479), second in 3-point field goal percentage (.395), third in 3-point field goals per game (2.6), sixth for assists per game (3.4) and fourth for assist/turnover ratio (1.9).
This marks Kindsvater's second All-UAA honor, as he was also named to the Second Team in 2022-23 as a sophomore. He ranks second among the Bears in scoring with 13.6 points per game and leads the team with 7.1 rebounds per game. He also leads WashU with 36 steals and is second with 57 assists. Kindsvater has scored in double-figures in 19 of the Bears' 25 games and recorded five double-doubles, including most recently against Emory on senior day. He ranks sixth among UAA players for rebounds per game (7.1) and sixth for steals per game (1.4).
The Bears are at home this weekend as they host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. On Friday evening at 6:40 p.m., WashU faces Central. The winner of that game will go on to play on Saturday at 6:40 p.m. against the winner of Denison and Franklin.
