ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Both events that saw members of the No. 32 Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team compete at the 2025 NCAA Div. III Indoor Track and Field National Championship took place on Friday afternoon at the Golisano Training Center.
One-fifth of the entire pole vault field consisted of Bears. The top WashU finisher was sophomore
Peter Lichtenberger, who finished in third place after reaching and clearing 5.10m on his second attempt. He was unable to clear 5.15m, and due to when he cleared the previous height, he finished in third place.
Junior
George Bourdier cleared his first three heights before stumbling and finishing in a tie for ninth place with a height of 4.90m. Graduate
Tommaso Maiocco achieved a final height of 5.05m, finishing in sixth place.
In the men's DMR, the team of senior
Frankie Lynch, junior
Brandon Brazil, sophomore
William Frohling, and junior
James Corbett finished in 10th place, narrowly missing out on scoring points, with a time of 10:02.90.
After day one, with all their events complete, WashU currently sits in a tie for eighth place with nine points. The Bears will have to wait and see how events conclude on Saturday for their final team standing.
