WashU Men's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at CMU Open

FAYETTE, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team made the quick turnaround from the indoor season to the outdoor season on Saturday at the 2026 Central Methodist Open.

No team scores were kept.

Top Finishes:
  • 400m
    • Senior Alex Zavadoski finished as runner-up with a time of 49.77
  • 800m
  • 1500m
  • 110m Hurdles
    • Three WashU athletes finished in the top-nine, led by first-year William Kamp and his time of 15.77 to finish fifth
    • Right behind him was sophomore Liam Elliott with a time of 15.95
    • First-year Beckett Jones was ninth with a time of 16.01
  • 400m Hurdles
    • Kamp had his second top-five finish of the season with a fourth place finish in a time of 59.60.
    • Classmate Nathaniel Hordon was ninth with his time of 1:00.84.
    • Elliott was next in 10th with a time of 1:01.72
  • 4x400m Relay
  • Pole Vault
    • Sophomore Zachary Duckworth claimed the win with a PR of 5.00m, edging out teammate senior George Bourdier for the win. Bourdier also cleared 5.00m, but missed out on the tiebreakers
    • Senior Hayden Kunkel was third with a clear of 4.90m while junior Peter Lichtenberger (4.65m) and first-year William Coyne (4.65m) rounded out the top-seven.
  • Long Jump
    • Senior Carson Page finished sixth with a distance of 6.53m
    • Classmate Eli Goldman was ninth with his leap of 6.32m
  • Triple Jump

  • Discus
    • First-year Hunter Rocker finished in third place with a throw of 41.52m
  • Hammer Throw
    • Sophomore Ian Murphy was seventh with a throw of 45.88m
  • Javelin
 
WashU will be at home next weekend when it hosts both the WashU Distance Carnival on Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27 as well as the WashU Invite on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. All events will take place at Francis Olympic Field.
