CHICAGO, Ill. – A number of field finals were held in addition to many track prelims for the No. 18 Washington University in St. Louis men's indoor track and field team on Saturday at day one of the 2025 UAA Indoor Championships.
Top Finishers:
- High Jump
- Junior Eli Goldman got the Bears on the team scoreboard with a seventh place finish in the event with a height of 1.89m
- He scored 1.5 points for WashU
- Weight Throw
- Competing in his first UAA championships, first-year Ian Murphy finished eighth with a throw of 12. 95m
- 5000m
- Senior Matthew Hornung was runner up in the event with a time of 14:57.20 while sophomore Conor Daly finished fourth with a time of 15:04.96.
- Combined they scored 13 points
- Distance Medley Relay
Prelim Top Finishes (Reaching Finals on Sunday)
- 400m
- First-year Benjamin Kruger had the eighth best prelim time and advances to the finals.
- 800m
- Both Frohling and junior Brandon Brazil advanced to the final with the second and eighth best times in the prelims
- 200m
- Another final will feature a pair of Bears with junior George Bourdier and senior Elvin Binagi finished second and third, respectively, in the prelims
The UAA Championships wrap on Sunday with track event finals as well as the remaining field event finals. Field events get underway at 10 a.m. while track events get started at 12 p.m.
