Bourdier Gets Top 10 Div. III Finish as No. 21 Men's Track & Field Competed at Keck Select

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Several top marks were recorded by the No. 21 Washington University in St. Louis men's indoor track and field team on Saturday at the Keck Select Invite hosted by Illinois Wesleyan at the Shirk Center.

No team scores were recorded at the meet.

Top Results:
  • 60m
    • In a field that featured over 100 entrants, senior Elvin Binagi finished 11th in the prelims with a time of 7.18
  • 400m
    • Sophomore William Frohling was the top finisher for WashU in fourth place with a time of 50.69
    • Junior Brandon Brazil also finished in the top 10 in eighth place with a time of 51.30
  • 800m
    • The Bears had three top 10 finishers, led by junior James Corbett as runner-up with a time of 1:56.22
    • First-year Caleb Brox had the seventh fastest time of the day (1:57.69) while graduate Frankie Lynch was ninth with a time of 1:58.09
  • 1 Mile
    • Two top finishes for WashU in this event with senior Fernando Ribeiro Duraes finishing in fifth place (out of 66) with a time of 4:21.20
    • Junior Conor Daly was ninth with a time of 4:21.84
  • 3000m
    • Half of the top 10 were Bears with a 3, 4, 5 finish.
    • Junior Oliver Witt (8:36.34), sophomore Will Liu (8:30.03), and first-year Sean Green (8:41.32) all finished in the top five
    • Graduate Jack Maranz (7th – 8:43.96) and Ilan Sherman-Kadish (9th – 8:44.46) were the other two top 10 finishers
  • 4x400
    • Two of the three Bears' teams finished in the top five relay squads
    • Binagi, Brazil, Frohling, and junior Carson Page finished second with a time of 3:24.71
    • The team of Corbett, Lynch, Brox and senior Jesse Sanchez was fourth with a time of 3:30.43.
  • High Jump
    • Junior Eli Goldman finished fifth with a height of 1.90m
  • Pole Vault
    • Junior George Bourdier won the event and broke his PR with a height of 4.90m, putting him in the top 10 in Div. III this season.
    • Graduate Tommaso Maiocco tied for runner up with a height of 4.70m with sophomore Peter Lichtenberger
    • Junior Hayden Kunkel was in a tie for fourth place with a height of 4.70m (set by which attempt he cleared it on)
WashU will be back in action next Saturday they travel to the Midwest Elite Invitational hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater on Feb. 15.
