ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The USTFCCCA has announced the top regional awards following the 2025 season, and the No. 11 Washington University in St. Louis women's cross country team has picked up a pair of awards.
Sophomore
Lucinda Laughlin was named the Midwest Region Athlete of the Year, while WashU head coach
Jeff Stiles was named the Midwest Region Coach of the Year.
Laughlin won the individual title at the Midwest Region Championships and later placed 16th at the NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, S.C. For her performance at the NCAA Championships, Laughlin earned All-American honors. The WashU standout was also fourth at the Augustana Interregional Invitational and fifth at the UAA Championships.
Stiles, in his 25th year as head coach of the Bears, led the team to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, S.C., with 292 points. Earlier in the season, Washington won the team title at the Midwest Region Championships with 42 points and finished fourth at the UAA Championships with 91 points.
