United Soccer Coaches Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Awards keep coming in for the Washington University in St. Louis men's soccer team, even after the season has ended. Sophomore
Quentin Gomez and junior
Zach Susee have earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Div. III Men's Soccer All-Region VIII Teams.
Gomez was named to the First Team All-Region while Susee landed on the Second Team All-Region.Â
Earlier this winter, Gomez was named the UAA Defensive Player of the Year while being selected to the First Team All-Association. In another stellar season, he was named the both the UAA Offensive Player of the Week and UAA Defensive Player of the Week on two separate occasions. He was also the 2023 UAA Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Association.
Gomez finished the season with five goals, including a pair of game-winners. He started all 15 games that he played in while anchoring a defense that produced seven shutouts, including a 2-0 win over then No. 14 Ohio Northern. He played all 90 minutes in 13 of his 15 games.
Susee, a 2024 First Team All-Association selection, played in all 16 contests for the Bears while making 15 starts. He finished the season with seven goals, which is tied for third in the conference, while ranking second in shots (44), shots on goal (23), assists (8) and points (22). For WashU, Susee scored three game-winners while leading the team in the offensive stat categories above.
He was also named the UAA Offensive Athlete of the Week on Sept. 30.
