Swimming and Diving Wraps Up UAA Championships

RESULTS

Atlanta, Ga. – The Washington University in St. Louis swimming and diving teams wrapped up the UAA Championships on Saturday evening.

The No. 12 men's team finished third with 1,268 points while the No. 12 women's team took fourth with 949 points.

MEN

Junior Mason Kelber finished second in the 1,650 freestyle, hitting an NCAA B cut with a time of 15:21.12. Sophomore Brendan Long finished 14th overall, hitting an NCAA B cut of 16:09.95.

Senior Kevin Hao also nabbed a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke, racing to an NCAA B cut of 1:58.36. Senior Nathan Katz took fourth with an NCAA B cut time of 1:59.88. First-year Jonathan Kim finished second in the B final and 10th overall with a time of 2:02.07.

Two Bears finished in the top-eight in the 200 butterfly, led by junior Jonathan Ma with a third-place finish in 1:49.32. First-year Ryan Hillery took fifth with a time of 1:50.04.

The top finisher for the Bears in the 100 freestyle was sophomore Austin Bick, who took 12th in 45.88.

In the 400 freestyle, the team of Kelber, Bick, Zach Halawa and Barclay finished fourth with an NCAA B cut of 3:01.48. The group of Pace Edwards, Nathan Lin, Hao and Mark Lipkin.

WOMEN

WashU had two top-eight finishers in the 200 breaststroke. Senior Grace Wakiyama finished sixth with an NCAA B cut of 2:21.82 while junior Maggie Teng took seventh in 2:22.05.

Junior Sandra Meszaros took fifth in the 200 butterfly, racing to an NCAA B cut of 2:03.71.

The top finisher for the Bears in the 1,650 freestyle was first-year Kiara Crumbley who took 14th with a time of 18:11.47.

First-year Alice Han was the top finisher for WashU in the 200 backstroke, taking second in the B final and 10th overall with a time of 2:04.47. Senior Abby Wilson finished 13th overall with a time of 2:05.20.

Junior Noelle DiClemente was the top finisher for the Bears in the 100 freestyle, finishing 15th overall with a time of 52.77.

The Bears wrapped up the day with a fourth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. The team of Lauren Antonowich, Grace Carey, DiClemente and Meszaros raced to an NCAA B cut of 3:27.87.
